Liquid Laundry Detergent

Just made my second batch of laundry detergent...for FREE!!! Oh yes it was! I bought all the stuff for it 6 weeks ago! That's right six weeks ago. So all the ingredients this time around were already paid for!...I am still "playing" around with it...but here is the recipe I used! I got it in a 5 gallon bucket this time!!! I forgot to save my receipt so here is the best guess or ballpark figures on the cost: Borax was about $4.00, Washing Soda was $3.00, and a 3 pack of Soap for $2. Total was actually more like $7.oo but I am erring on the side of budget caution!...None the less divide that by 3....you are looking at BUDGET AMAZING!!!!! Plus I have enough Borax and Washing Soda for more like 12 batches! Well 10 more anyways...in the least. I am also using these for house hold cleaning; so at some point I will do the EXACT break down for you!

Liquid Laundry Detergent:

1 Regular Sized Bar of PLAIN Soap ( I used Jergen's/ Ivory will work too )
1 Cup of Borax
1 Cup of Washing Soda
( Scent of your choice... I did not use any but Lavender, Orange or Lemongrass would work)
1 BIG bucket or tub of your choice

Now go to Wallie World and by your ingredients. Go on... I'll wait!...............

It's in the Laundry Detergent Isle....NO do NOT get Baking Soda it is not the same!!! TRUST ME!!...That line is going to be long...so I'll wait some more!...............................

Now here we go. Take the bar of soap and grate it...yes just use your kitchen one! Goodness it's soap!!! It will be sparkling clean in just a bit. Get you a big pot...not not the stock pot size just big gonna make some soup size. Put in 6 cups of water and pour in the soap flakes...yes that stuff you just grated. Turn burner on and set it at medium heat. Melt your soap in the water till the soap disappears. Turn the burner off but leave the pot on the burner. Now add your Borax and Washing Soda...stir till they dissolve. You'll have a creamy white looking mixture....OH this is going to be good!!! Add your scent of choice...I am going to try Lemongrass as soon as I get to some odd ball place that sells some. Next pour 1 gallon of hot water into your 5 gallon bucket. Pour in your mixture that is in your pot. Take a plastic ladle or something big/long/plastic and stir this up. A painters stick or yard stick will work as well. DON'T stick your hand in there it's HOT!!! Now pour in another 1 and 1/2 gallons of warm water. Total is approximately 3 gallons of laundry detergent!! Yes 3 GALLONS!!! Put a lip/cover over this and let it sit for a good 6 hours...or longer. No real big deal on the time. You should end up with a big old gloppy whitish looking goo of sorts!!! THAT is your new laundry detergent! LOVE IT!!!...Now you just use 1/2 a cup per load!!!..Honestly I do not even use that much....but go with it that is the correct amount to use. This will NOT suds up like you are use to with conventional detergents. It will get your clothes clean. Yes it will!...Now if you are married to a mechanic or a farmer... or perhaps have children who love to roll around in the mud, then I do suggest you toss in some Oxyclean or something like it...for added whitening power but other wise...you are so good to GO!!!....And after 6 weeks; NONE of my ALLERGIC to EVERYTHING kids have broke out in any kind of a rash!!!...Can I get a Whooot Whoot!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????? No? Well your no fun!!!...I did that myself already anyways!!!....

Now clean up your mess in the kitchen/laundry room!....Because you know you made one! I did! Let me know what you think? Go on give it a try! It's Homemade ! Mamamade!........
